Enjoyable, engaging and educational

★★★★★
As a home schooling mom, I am always looking for ways bring history alive and present. I also seek out resources that are genuinely interesting, accurate, and express positive values. FINNIAN AND THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS not only hits the mark on all of the above – but it is something that my husband and I truly enjoyed ourselves! The artwork alone is beautifully designed and meticulously detailed, and the story is engaging and well written. Best of all, I can use this as a springboard for numerous lessons within our home school, from history to geography to faith and character. It is a story we can return to again and again, and gladly will. Makes a great gift idea for teens and adults alike! I heartily recommend this comic to anyone.

The Church needs Catholic stories!

★★★★★
I once read a book that said whoever tells and lives the best stories will rule the future. That book did not take into account Divine Providence and God's Grace, but the statement bears truth nevertheless. Media (TV, Internet, movies, books, etc.) is dominated by the secular world, but people are looking for more than what they see in their Facebook feeds. However, they generally don't respond well to other people waving Sacred Scripture in their face. Jesus teaches using parables. The Old Testament is full of stories about Israel and its people. It is time for Catholic creatives to share their own Christ-centered stories. Mr. Kosloski has taken an important step in that direction toward a new Evangelization with this comic book. Finnian and the Seven Mountains is suitable for children or adults. The artwork is beautiful and the story is interesting. I look forward to learning more about Finnian and the sword and I also hope to see more of the Archangel Michael in the coming issues. Buy the book for yourself or as a gift!

The Journey Begins

★★★★★
Finnian and the Seven Mountains (Issue #1) is a beautifully illustrated first entry into this series. Using iconic imagery of the classic hero's journey, we are introduced to Finnian, a young man seeking to not only avenge his parents' death at the hands of the Vikings, but seemingly seeking something more. Finnian's journey leads him to an island inhabited by interesting characters such as the mysterious Brendan and the mystical/mysterious (almost Yoda-like) Abba. Pair these intriguing characters with the antagonist Vikings, who seem to be tied to something all together darker, and you have the beginnings of an epic battle between good and evil. I look forward to following Finnian and company on their quest for the legendary sword, and I have a feeling they will find much more along the way.
